New York City

I was in New York last week for a couple of days.  I went with my sister.  We stayed 2 nights and saw 2 operas at the Met.  Rigoletto was lovely as expected.  Das Rheingold exceeded expectations for me.  It was the new Robert Lepage production.  Time flew by as they say.  Many of the characters flew by as well -- on wires.  The Rhine maidens began the show hanging in front of the set.  Videos projected on the wall somehow reacted to their movements.  Very cool.

I saw a photo shoot in the square in front of Lincoln Center.  Cranes suspended the Rhine maidens over the fountain.  I guess the photos will turn up in ads or stories.  The entire Ring will be performed in the spring of 2012.
