Life Drawing

I had my last life drawing class of the term yesterday.  Many people stayed away which surprised me.  The teacher said that my gestures are much improved since the start of the term.  I wouldn't have said that myself but I'll believe her.  I will have two drawings (not pictured here) from yesterday in the Open House.  They're both using a technique she had us doing with straight lines.  We first did the gesture and mass with a lighter colour.  Then using a straight edge we drew contour lines in black according to the angle we saw on the model.  Speaking of the model, I have never experienced one who moved as much as he did.  Fortunately the teacher must have seen this too and got him to sit in very simple poses for the longer drawings.   Next term will build on what we've already done and add composition and shading among other things.  Here are a few from yesterday.
