Sleep Apnea
Last year I had a sleep test which revealed that I have severe sleep apnea. Severe -- meaning that I stop breathing on average 65 times an hour without the CPAP machine. (That's "Continuous Positive Airway Pressure.") An interesting discovery since sleep has seldom been the calm restorative it was meant to be. I now have to wear a mask that sticks up my nose in order to sleep better. And I do. But I'm still bothered by dreams and terrors in the night.
